It was a real pleasure to be asked to create our own version of the Boar and bagpipes. This was a private commission to sculpt a Gothic gargoyle in the style of the famous carvings at Melrose Abbey (which include demons and hobgoblins as well as the cheerful pipe-playing pig).

A favourite recent commission: we were asked to create a large stone head based on the Linton Wryms – a mysterious creature, part-dragon, part-serpent.
Using all our specialist carving expertise and skills and working closely with the leading architect on the project, we created the head using detailed, researched drawings, carving intricate details to evoke the sinister eyes and reptilian scales of this legendary creature.

To commemorate the Millennium, FA Sweeney was asked to create stone memorial panels for the Scottish Fisheries Museum in East Neuk, and the St Monan’s Heritage Centre as well as the coastal villages of Anstruther and Cellardyke.
The panels were designed by Bob Crerar, made in stone then carved with the coat of arms or symbols associated with each village. Carved lettering was etched into the stone and the panels were then gilded and painted, creating a unique and striking centerpiece for each village.
